We play music that thrived during the American era of prohibition, music from talkies, HBO:s Boardwalk Empire and scratchy blues 78s. All sprung from the cradle of American popular music– Tin Pan Alley –
When we enter the stage you can expect tight vocal harmonies wrapped in a sweet mix of steel guitar, arch-top guitar and upright bass. (the same lineup as as Al Capone´s house trio btw) This was a time when groovy, warm and frisky “Prohibition Pop” was born. Despite a time of unemployment, financial chaos, bootleg booze and gangsters, this heralded the birth of elated, romantic party music!
“It was truly a pleasure getting to record some songs with the Sunset Serenaders. It’s always a treat to work with musicians who are not only skilled at their instruments but whose passion for the music they are playing comes through in the recording. It makes for an easy, fun and productive recording session. I hope to record with them again in the future”
